Description Welcome to the Owl Box Project! Barn Owls (Tyto alba) are cavity breeders and this box provides them with a suitable site to raise chicks. They are the so-called “rodent specialists” of the owl world and are a great ally in the control of rodent problems. A family of Barn Owls can eat up to 2500 rodents per year. Our owl boxes are constructed from recycled weatherproof plywood and are then sealed with an industrial wood sealant. The thickness of the wood and the wood sealant used, coupled with the annual service, gives the box an outdoor lifespan of four-five years.
